Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy Honored by Wells Fargo through ‘Days of Giving’

Ferst Readers was honored by Wells Fargo with a $1,000 grant at the Days of Giving celebration in Atlanta on Oct. 22.

Ferst Readers was among 65 groups chosen by the bank’s team members for the recognition taking place at ZOO Atlanta. The donation helped push total giving to more than $1.5 million across Georgia since the program’s beginning six years ago.

“We can do so much with this and we appreciate Wells Fargo’s gift,” said Betsy Wagenhauser, Ferst Readers’s President. “Times remain trying for many and the needs are great.”

Monies to Assist in Expansion of their Program

WR and Floy A. Sauey Family Foundation (Baraboo, WI), the charitable arm of Nordic Group of Companies, Ltd. has made a donation of $20,000 to Ferst Readers based in Madison, Georgia. Nordic Group is the parent company of Flambeau, Inc. located in Madison, Georgia and headquartered in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Betsy Wagenhauser, President of Ferst Readers stated, "We are beside ourselves with joy for this wonderful gift from the W.R. and Floy A. Sauey Family Foundation!

Thanks to Clothes Less Traveled
for Their Generous Donation

Ferst Readers is greatly appreciative of Clothes Less Traveled for their generous donation. These funds will enable Ferst Readers to register 200 additional children here in Fayette County.

Ferst Readers is a non-profit foundation which “Provides books to Georgia preschool children to prepare them for reading and learning success.”

The books are mailed every month to each child in our program free of charge between birth and five years of age. Ferst Readers hopes to instill a life long love of reading, and afford a chance for success in school.
